MUBI, Delivering European Cinema Globally

With the support of Creative Europe - MEDIA Programme of the European Union

MUBI, the curated online SVOD platform, is celebrating its 11th anniversary this year. Over the years, MUBI has been championing hidden gems, forgotten classics and talented directors. Our goal has always been to be the online destination for film lovers across the globe to discover, watch and discuss the best of cinema.

MUBI offers a wide selection of films – from cult classics and masterpieces by established auteurs to fresh festival titles from emerging world talent. With the support of Creative Europe - MEDIA Programme of the European Union, over the course of the coming months, MUBI will continuously be highlighting the European films on the platform to increase the visibility and accessibility of European cinema on VOD, and to bolster MUBI’s longstanding commitment to European cinema.

The objectives of this ongoing project are to:

  • Continue championing European film across our global platform
  • Reach new audiences and encourage existing audiences to discover European cinema
  • Make European cinema more accessible through the promotion of MUBI as an online access point
  • Explore new and innovative marketing strategies promoting European works, using channels such as social media and tactics such as our new Schools Program in collaboration with CILECT (in which over 60,000 film students and their teachers will be offered access to MUBI globally).

Recently MUBI has highlighted the work of filmmakers like Maurice Pialat, Ingmar Bergman, Krzysztof Zanussi, Werner Herzog, Jean-Luc Godard and many more (to come!).

With the generous support of Creative Europe, MUBI is putting European cinema directly in the spotlight by providing an online channel for a global audience. Welcome to MUBI.
